The links aren't working!

This is usally caused by DNS filtering from your ISP or network administrator. If you are on a corporate or school network, try switching to your mobile data or a different network.

This is just a tool for phishing!

Moderation tools are in place to prevent abuse. Suspicious links, even if not reported, are reviewed and removed if they violate the terms of service. Users who create malicious links will be banned from the service with no warning.

Why did you add the redirect page? It was so much better with an immediate redirect!

The redirect page is to ensure users have a chance to check for anything actually dangerous before proceeding. As funny as it is to have your friends immediately rickrolled by your link, CreepyLink has gotten too big to operate on trust alone, since not every malicious link will be caught right away.

How long do shortened links last?

Until I can't keep the server going any longer.

What types of URLs are allowed?

Almost all URLs are fair game. However, you cannot shorten links that:

Links violating these rules will be removed and the user who created them will be banned with no warning.

How do I report a malicious link?

If you encounter a malicious or problematic link, please use the "Report Issue" button on the home page.

What data do you collect?

Next to nothing. IP addresses are logged in lieu of accounts to store your preferences (like auto-redirect opt-in/opt-out) and to prevent abuse.

Is CreepyLink open source?

Not currently. The codebase is a bit shameful. I'll release it if I ever clean it up enough to be proud of it. For those curious, it's built with F# and ASP.NET Core, with a SQLite database.

I have another question!

Feel free to reach out using the "Report Issue" button and select "Feedback" as the category.
